FC Barcelona played with eleven homegrown first time ever

The input of Montoya for the injured Alves, FC Barcelona align prompted the first time ever an eleven formed in La Masia.

With the side on the field the club fulfilled the dream of forming an eleven players bred with the FC Barcelona youth. This is the eleventh historical: Valdés, Montoya, Piqué, Puyol, Alba, Busquets, Iníesta, Xavi, Cesc, Messi and Pedro. Although the starting XI against Levante was Dani Alves, the Brazilian had to leave due to injury in the 14th minute. He has replaced Martin Montoya and has meant that the club played for the first time with an eleven entirely made in the farmhouse. Later, when Tito replaced Adriano for Alba, the figure was again 10. 

Tito Vilanova said that "When Dani Alves was injured I thought could not be this eleven. Montoya was the natural change. We must be very happy and proud to have been eleven players in the house."

Of the current staff, 16 of the 24 members (and the entire coaching staff) are formed in the farmhouse. Between them the four captains: Puyol, Xavi, Iníesta and Valdes. Moreover, his splendid figure, Leo Messi, arrived at FC Barcelona youth ranks in childhood. Xavi had more time that is he joined the club in 1991 and since 1998 is part of the first team. Therefore, this is its 22nd season at FC Barcelona. 

Captain Carles Puyol, curiously, and Pedro are the teams that played at least in the lower grades: 3 (Youth FC Barcelona A, FC Barcelona C, FC Barcelona B).

Montoya is the one that went through more sets of the quarry. Since starting in the Benjamin to the FC Barcelona B participated in 10 teams.

Piqué and Alba are the ones who started further back, since it debuted in a social tournament organized by FC Barcelona (the predecessor of what is now the FCBEscola). His first team was the Alevín Catalans. 

- Valdés, Piqué, Cesc Alba and returned to the Club after he left. For the goalkeeper, had signed in 1992, but had to leave immediately to Tenerife three years for family reasons.

- Five of the eleven passed briefly through the late FC Barcelona C: Valdes, Puyol, Busquets, Pedro and Messi.
