Lionel Messi received the European Golden Boot award for being the highest scorer in Europe

Lionel Messi won his first Golden Boot in 2009-10 by scoring 34 goals which helped FC Barcelona to win the league title. But in the season 2011-12 he scored a record 50 goals for FC Barcelona.


Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernández were present in the ceremony. Messi dedicates the award to his FC Barcelona teammates. Messi said, “It’s a prize for scoring goals, but without my teammates I couldn't have score them.” “I don’t fight for individual awards, I fight for titles,” he added.

“I’m and I always will be grateful to FC Barcelona for what they have done for me,” Messi said. “My dream is to end my career at FC Barcelona.”
